Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center Honored With TX ENA Award for Crisis Response Readiness

The Emergency Department at Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center has been honored with the Texas Emergency Nurses Association (TX ENA) Award for Crisis Response Readiness, following an incident that demonstrated the team’s exceptional preparedness and excellent coordination in a mass casualty situation involving multiple drowning victims.

On November 20, 2023, our Emergency Department faced a challenging scenario when six drowning victims were in route to our facility. With a patient census at 85, an unusually busy day for our 20-bed ER, our team immediately initiated the mass casualty protocol to ensure the greatest response and care for all incoming patients.
